Review of an unusual version of BlitzWolf smartwatch. We are talking about a smart watch in a massive stainless steel case, with a metal bracelet and for a small price. The BlitzWolf BW-HL4 watch is the perfect compromise between classic design, smart features and value. The appearance of the watch is brutal — it is a large case with a diameter of 50 mm and a thickness of 12 mm. The watch is noticeably heavy and does not give the impression of a frankly cheap model.
Large watch with a massive case from BlitzWolf. The BW-HL4 model is a logical continuation of the popular BW-HL3 line, but with improved “stuffing” and with more smart functions. Unlike most budget Chinese models, the BW-HL4 model looks very interesting, and will be appropriate as an entry-level watch with a good design.

The packaging for the watch is quite simple and corresponds to the BlitzWolf lineup. The box is made in white and green colors, with a large inscription of the BW-HL4 model. There is no image of the model, minimalist style.
The package includes not only the usual instructions and a charging cable, but also a special tool for adjusting the length of the bracelet. The bracelet itself is already installed on the watch, so it just remains to “adjust” the number of links to the diameter of the wrist.
The user manual is quite voluminous, contains information both on the watch itself and on the application. A description of the connection, clock settings, changing watch faces and much more is available.
BlitzWolf watches look large, a massive case with a height of 12 mm catches the eye. A molded bracelet adds a nice heft to this classic-style smartwatch. The display is slightly recessed relative to the bezel. On the ring there is a markup and designation of the functions of two hardware buttons.
On the reverse side there is an optical sensor for activity tracking, as well as contacts for recharging and synchronization with a computer.
For recharging and synchronization with a computer, a special USB cable from the kit is used. Full charge time is about 2 hours. Operating time from 3 to 7 days depending on the intensity of use. In economy mode up to 20 days.
The bracelet of the BlitzWolf watch is worthy of separate consideration. It is a classic version of a bracelet with wide links — cast and heavy. Material: 316L stainless steel, polished finish. This is not a cheap stamping — such a watch is pleasant to hold in your hands. The mechanism of the lock is a «butterfly».
We charge the watch and turn it on. During the delivery, the battery was almost discharged and before the tests it took an hour or two to hold it on charge. The BlitzWolf has an IPS display with good viewing angles. The brightness is average, in bright sunlight it will be difficult to see the colors. But under normal conditions, a high-quality picture is displayed. The maximum resolution is 240 by 240 pixels.
Clock management is familiar — swipe left / right and up / down. There is a separate screen for quick access to settings, a screen with a summary of activity statistics, a screen with heartbeat and blood pressure analysis. Of the additional functions, a timer, an alarm clock, and music playback control are available. Sleep monitoring with analysis is provided separately.
In order to change the style of the dial, just make a long tap on the screen. A menu with pre-installed options opens, you can select and apply any you like.
You will need to install the H Band app to control and configure your watch from your smartphone, as well as access in-depth analysis.
The application is simple, reminiscent of similar options for cheap mass Chinese watches, first of all, not quite correct machine translation of a number of menus. On the other hand, there is a detailed customization of clock and alert functions, including notifications from popular WhatsApp, FB applications. It is possible to manually select the application you need, for example, VK.
There are also interesting moments. I noticed that when you start the application, you need to select a skin color for the heart rate monitor to work correctly. This is the first time I’ve come across this setup.
For comparison, I put a simple quartz watch (not smart) — SEIKO SKS539P2 chronograph. The case diameter of SEIKO is “only” 43 mm, and you can clearly see how big the BlitzWolf BW-HL4 watch looks.
If compared with modern fitness bracelets, then, for example, Xiaomi Mi Smart band 6 has much more built-in sports training modes, and other functions are at the same level. True, this is a completely different form factor.
Comparison with Zepp Z watches is already more interesting. It is immediately clear that the designers were inspired by the general idea. A similar design of the bezel catches the eye. Zepp Z has one more physical button (although there are only 2 functional ones). But the screen is better — AMOLED with a resolution of 454 × 454 pixels.
Another smart “classic” is the Samsung Gear S3 watch, which was extremely popular at one time. I note that the Gear S3 has a swivel bezel and has a functional value — for selecting functions and managing the menu.
By the way, the biometric sensor of Gear S3 and BlitzWolf BW-HL4 are almost the same. Otherwise, the watches have more in common than differences.
The novelty from BlitzWolf looks quite interesting. It will be appropriate for both a suit and a casual style. Yes, and you can go in for sports without any problems — the watch is protected according to the IP67 standard.

As for the operating time, depending on the intensity of use, the watch will need to be charged every 3-7 days. In general, the standard situation for such smart watches. I recharge the same Gear S3 every three days.
The BlitzWolf BW-HL4 smartwatch is a simple entry-level smartwatch. This is a good choice for undemanding users, with a basic set of features, but with flaws in the translation in the application. The truth is that this is not the most important thing. The watch actually makes a good impression. Massive stainless steel case, heavy cast bracelet — all this looks really good. Much better than expensive plastic watches. As for functionality, the watch has various “chips”, for example, you can upload music to the built-in memory and connect wireless headphones. Take it or not — you decide.
