At the end of last year, Kumi had an updated watch model — GW16T Pro. The model without the Pro prefix was interesting for its very user-friendly interface and elegant appearance. The brand decided to go further, but the result from my point of view turned out to be contradictory, although not uninteresting in its price range.

As is usually the case with young brands, there is a super cover as an element of commercial packaging. It is here that the brand and model are indicated, and below the characteristics of the product. Those. this is OEM, but in terms of packaging and initial presentation, everything looks good — modest but informative, thick cardboard, protective insert, films, a postcard from Kumi, instructions in several languages.
The watch is made in a classic style, a half-meter cable with a magnetic block is used for charging. A bag of silica gel saves the watch from moisture.
The total length of the soft strap with the watch is 25 cm. The watch does not look particularly large with a case diameter of 45.6 mm, and apparently their height plays a role here — only 9.6 mm. On the strap there are two trenchers with stoppers on the inside.
Along with an elegant shape, an important plus of the watch is the glass with rounded edges that covers the display. It has the same diameter as the case, there are well-readable timestamps under it. Hours are indicated in 24-hour mode, but minute ones make it easier to navigate when setting classic dials. However, the main advantage of this glass is its coating. It is difficult to leave obvious prints here and the watch will always look neat.
The body is made of zinc alloy. The level of processing is very decent. For control, in addition to the touch screen, two buttons are used.
On the other hand, the case is clean, nothing spoils the appearance.
Below are individual characteristics, contact pads for charging and a heart rate sensor are placed. Spring-loaded strap studs allow you to quickly change the strap to any other.
The watch memory contains five dials, one of which is branded from Kumi. You can change them by holding your finger on the screen for a long time and then paging. In the application, you can choose other watch faces, there are a lot of them and you can always pick up something.
The clock is controlled by swipes and two buttons. The top one also turns on, turns off the clock and exits to the previous interface screen.
A swipe from the top opens the quick settings menu. Tapping on the month icon turns on Do Not Disturb mode. When you touch the icon with a magnifying glass on the phone, a melody starts playing — this is the phone search mode. You can view clock information and adjust the brightness. By the way, in all photos the brightness is at a minimum and this is quite enough — the pictures are bright and legible.
In the settings menu (gear icon) there are two screens with options. The first is a tab with screen options, language selection and vibration level.
The screen options here are not just changing the brightness, but a set of functions. Here again, you can change the dial, adjust the brightness, set the delay for turning off the screen and turning it on with a wave of your hand.
There are three levels of vibration and it is not the duration that changes, but its intensity.
On the next screen of the settings menu, there are two tabs — a QR code for downloading the application and the «System» tab again with information about the watch, shutdown and reset.
With the top button, open the menu with a list of the main functions of the smart watch — a pedometer, measurements, etc.
In general, the watch interface is translated very well, only the pedometer was called data. Separate names of options are presented in the form of a running line, which is also not as boring as in other budget models.
There is a function of women’s health, which becomes active if the owner of the watch is a woman and indicated this in the profile settings in the application.
The weather widget shows its status only not the current date and there is no way to see the forecast for the coming days. There is a stopwatch and a timer up to two hours.
The training menu can be opened through the above list with the top button, but to save time it was moved to the bottom button. In this model, there are seven types of training with approximately the same tracked parameters.
We saw above that access to messages is in the menu of the full collection of options on the top button. But the fastest way to get to them is to swipe from below. The memory holds 15 messages and notifications. The maximum number of characters is 88. With bit depth, letters H, Y, X, b, everything is fine.
It remains to look at the swipe left and right. However, there is nothing to see here. On the left, on the right, the same set of functions is called — sleep, pulse, pedometer.
As you can see, everything is there, but not everything is logically placed and easily accessible. It would be possible, if there were four swipes and two buttons, to place the options and access to them more rationally.
Therefore, I will show the measurement monitors separately and together. Measurements, by the way, are carried out within a minute, and are quite accurate compared to other watches. There are no surprises here, the watch has already taught this a long time ago.
In conjunction with a smartphone, the watch works through the FitCloudPro application. You can download it via QR code or in the play store. Feedback on the application after its update is not very good, but the disconnections mentioned there, the impossibility of synchronization, etc. I did not notice. Apparently the developers have made adjustments and now the application is working fine.
All monitors fit on one main screen of the application. You can expand each of them and view the captured data.
Monitoring of pulse, pressure, oxygen content in the blood is accompanied by graphing. By touching them, you can find out the indicators at a particular point in time.
The Device tab on two pages allows you to set alarms, set up reminders, enable continuous heart rate monitoring, etc. The dial library was called the dial library. A minor flaw, but there are a lot of dials.
In the Profile menu, personal data is set and it is possible to calibrate the pressure measurement function. It is implemented simply — pressure is measured with a tonometer, the data is entered into the profile and serves as a reference when calculating pressure indicators. It is important to read the reference information on the pages of the monitors and remember that the data obtained is for information only — the watch is not a medical device.
The application does a good job of building training routes. They are represented by walking, running and hiking — short trips light on pre-laid mountain trails. When driving through urban areas, the application does not detect walking through buildings and works normally.
As a result, having familiarized myself with the clock, I will make a comment on the architecture of the options. It was possible to refine the interface a bit and group the functions more optimally and without repetition. From what I like, I note an elegant appearance, non-staining glass, a bright display. In terms of sports functions, the set is almost standard and is quite sufficient for athletes like me. Another important point is the presence of IP67 protection. The watch is not afraid of water, rain, shower, swimming pool. Particular emphasis, it seems to me, was placed on the energy efficiency of the platform. Almost a week of studying, checking modes, constantly running monitors, including sleep tracking and constant heart rate monitoring, flashing dials, timers, alarms, could not get the battery level below 60%, which is a very good result for a watch in this price category.
