A month ago I received a smartphone, ordered a 6/128GB version in gray at the very start of sales on Ali. I conducted a series of tests and evaluated the device in «combat» conditions, I am ready to share my impressions about this device. Hope the review is helpful. Looking ahead: the smartphone is very interesting, but there are small jambs that irritate the nervous system.

A person who buys a smartphone from the Redmi Note line, and even more so the Pro version, has only one thought in his head: I want the maximum possible hardware for this money! A good camera and battery life and display is also important! And I want stereo speakers and fast charging, and in general I want everything! In general, I want a flagship and for cheap! And looking at the characteristics and price, you understand that no one except Redmi / Poco can offer anything like this in this price range. Let me remind you that at the start of sales of Note 10 Pro version 6 / 64GB, you could “snatch” for only $ 230. Well, if you just need a strong mid-budget device, then you could pay attention to the younger Note 10 model.
I chose the gray coloring («grey onyx») of the smartphone, the most versatile. Also available in bronze and blue.

The power supply is 33W, which pleases. By the way, the power supply of my OnePlus 8 Pro is 30W.
Smartphones are greeted “by clothes”: the appearance of the front panel of the gadget is standard for the non-budget segment, namely a large display with a cutout for the front camera in the center and small frames on the sides. The dimensions of the smartphone are rather big, but I have long been accustomed to such a shovel phone, my main smartphone is OnePlus 8 Pro with the same diagonal of 6.67″. Average weight
But the rear panel stands out among other smartphones, largely due to the non-standard camera block: it is played in a very interesting way. I personally got tired of the monotony of design, so some kind of creative approach always pleases me. Outwardly, I really like everything. The back panel is covered with glass and shimmers beautifully in the sun, the gray color does not look boring at all.
The only thing I want to complain about is that the camera block decently protrudes beyond the edges of the case, respectively, the gadget “swings” on the table when you touch the display in the upper left. Of course, this issue can be solved with a bumper / cover, but then the beauty of the back panel will be hidden. There is also a lot of dust around the camera block.
Below we have a type-c port, a multimedia speaker and a microphone. On top is a 3.5mm jack, another speaker for stereo, a microphone and an infrared port. On the right are the volume rockers and the power button. The left side is empty. In general, we have a flagship design and case materials in an inexpensive (by today’s standards) device. Although they still saved a little — the frame of the Note 10 Pro is made of plastic and painted in the color of the case. Well, maybe at least the paint will peel off less than from a metal frame. «Old Believers» will be pleased with the fact that there is a 3.5mm jack. Fans of managing home appliances — the presence of an infrared port.

The sound pleased, because the device has stereo speakers, which is rare for the mid-budget segment. The sound is slightly worse than in the top flagships, but very decent. Plays clean and even the bass is felt. Just a joy for such a device
You can also use wired headphones, but I switched to TWS a long time ago
I managed to use other bluetooth devices in the Note 10 Pro bundle: smart watch, bracelet, speaker. Used as a navigator. Everything is fine, the connection is stable, there are no problems with finding satellites.
I was confused by the fact that I did not immediately find a fingerprint scanner. However, in this regard, everything is fine: the scanner is built into the power button on the side. The fingerprint scanner works as it should: stable and fast. There are no complaints about the build quality of the case: no squeaks, no backlashes, the buttons have a clear move.

DISPLAY
The next thing to stop is the display. It received an Amoled-matrix, has a large diagonal of 6.67″, a high resolution of FullHD + (2400 * 1800) and an excellent pixel density of 395ppi. The picture is bright and contrasting, the margin of brightness allows you to comfortably use the screen in any conditions. The display is covered with 5th generation Gorilla Glass. In addition, the refresh rate of the picture is 120Hz! The best smartphone screen for the money is simply unrealistic to get.
It may be slightly worse than the display of top flagships like the OnePlus 9 Pro or Mi 11, but the difference is really small. The display is just a topper without any exaggeration.
The maximum brightness is enough to comfortably use the gadget in the sun. Text is easy to read

They also brought the Always On Display mode! The display type can be changed. However, there is a nuance, initially the screen is active only 10s after touching, such is the stupidity in the MIUI firmware, I thought. After reading the forum, it turned out that a normal Always On Display can still be done with the help of simple manipulations in the settings menu … only it eats up 26-27% of the charge per night, which I think is too much.
And of course, a maximum of 10 simultaneous touches of the display is supported
SOFTWARE PART
Redmi Note 10 Pro runs on Android OS with MIUI Global v. 12.0.1 (12.0.13 after the next update). The operating system works very fast, and the animations are drawn very smoothly — without lags and freezes. It is very pleasant to use such software.
The update arrives and will continue to arrive for a long time, two updates have already arrived during testing
The settings menu is correctly translated into Russian and differs from the standard Google one. There are many different themes for the design of the desktop and the lock table, various modes of operation of the vibration motor. By the way, he is good here, no worse than in the flagships. Of course, there is also an NFC module in this device, but I can’t check its work in full, because. I live in Belarus, but Google Pay is not supported here. Judging by the forum, there are no problems with payment in Russia.
PERFORMANCE
For some, performance is a big factor. Of course, not everyone around plays games, but the device should be suitable for such people. Note 10 Pro received a Snapdragon 732G processor, the same as in the well-known Poco X3. Graphics accelerator Adreno 618. RAM / internal memory: 6/128GB in my version. In modern demanding games, the chip proved to be successful, slightly inferior to flagship solutions, but providing comfortable playing conditions in absolutely any modern shooter / race.
In the Antutu Note 10 Pro test, it scored 348.000, which is a very decent result.

Memory speed is also important, but it is worthy here.
CAMERAS
The next very important point is the block of cameras. The main module has a resolution of as much as 108MP, of course, this is just a marketing ploy, but a simple layman can be impressed in earnest. In addition, you can show off such an innovation to colleagues / friends, the main thing is to choose those who cannot argue why your joy is in vain.

Jokes aside, the shots in good lighting are quite good. The color rendition is natural, and I really do not like the distortion of color shades in the pictures.

I also compared detail when shooting at 48MP on the OnePlus 8 Pro (left) and 108MP on the Redmi Note 10 Pro (right). The results are very convincing. In terms of colors, I like the Xiaomi version even more.
The portrait mode showed itself on the good side: the subject stands out clearly, errors are not so common. The blur level can be changed to suit your preference.

There is a good ultra-width. It is inferior in quality to flagship solutions, but as an addition it is quite pleasant. At least there was no frank soap at the edges of the frames, it’s not a shame to show the pictures to friends

Video shooting is carried out at a maximum resolution of 4K / 30 ks and there is no stabilization in this mode. Although let’s say Poco X3 has it! To use stabilization when shooting video, you have to switch to 1080P / 60 mode, but even here the stabilization does not work perfectly. I really liked the detail and sound recording quality, autofocus works correctly
The front camera produces pictures of very good quality and can blur the background.

BATTERY
One of the most important points when choosing a smartphone is the autonomy of work, because often and for a long time recharging a smartphone does not bring joy to anyone. In this regard, the Redmi Note line has always found a balance between the «capacity» of the battery and the compact dimensions of the case. This philosophy did not bypass this device, which received a 5020mah battery.
In a fairly active mode of use: YouTube, messengers, Yandex music in cars, sometimes a navigator and 120Hz display mode, I have enough battery for 2 days. If you use the charge more economically and set the display frequency to 60Hz, then you don’t have to think much about the charge at all.
When playing some modern shooter like Call Of Duty or PUBG, the charge should be enough for ~ 9 hours. At the same time, you can charge your smartphone with a standard 33W power supply by 60% in 30 minutes. A full charge cycle takes approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. The device does not support wireless charging technology.

It has flagship case materials, a cool 120Hz display, stereo speakers, decent cameras, and good battery life. I definitely can recommend this device for purchase to my friends who want to get the maximum minced meat for the minimum possible money.
However, without jambs, Xiaomi does not know how: proximity sensor! It would seem a trifle, but no! Because of his kosyachnoy work during a conversation with his cheek, you can successfully launch a number of applications that you were not going to touch. It’s really annoying! I hope in the future this problem will be solved programmatically, or in new batches they will put a better sensor. To enable a full-fledged Always on display, you will have to read the forums) And when you turn it on, you are unlikely to be satisfied with the battery consumption of 27% per night. I ended up using a 10-second display of information on the display. The lack of stabilization when shooting in 4K was a little surprising, because the Poco X3 has stabilization! Well, here it is, as it is …
This is how the new gadget from Xiaomi turned out: in many ways it’s just incredibly cool, but with some little oddities. Some of them are solvable, and some will have to live with. If the Note 10 Pro version seems expensive to you, the manufacturer also has a simpler, but cheaper, regular version. You can also say about her «top for your money», but that’s a completely different story)
