Equipment
The graphic tablet is supplied in a stylish rectangular box made of thick cardboard. There is nothing superfluous on the front side, on this part you can see the company logo, the name of the model and the image of the tablet itself.

On the back of the package are technical specifications, which are fully written in English. In addition, here you can see some of the features of the device and information about the colors in which this tablet is available.

The package includes:
- graphic tablet XP-PEN Deco LW;
- stylus;
- spare tips (12 pcs.);
- USB A to Type-C cable;
- adapters: USB A — MicroUSB, USB A — Type-C;
- USB A receiver for wireless connection to another device;
- tip removal tool;
- instruction manual (there is a Russian language);

Appearance
The reviewed graphics tablet is for sale in as many as four colors: pink, green, blue and black. Its dimensions are 31.5 x 18.7 x 0.88 centimeters (Length x Width x Thickness). The working area is highlighted with special white marks on the corners, the size of which is 10″ x 6″. Initially, the graphics tablet had a protective film.

A little to the right on the same part is the XP-PEN logo, and on the left are eight quick buttons or they are called “hot keys” in another way. They can be programmed as you like using a proprietary application, but more on that later. The emitted sounds from pressing the buttons are pleasant, as well as in general to the touch.

Just above the buttons is a status indicator that glows blue when the tablet is in use. Above the same indicator, there is another one that informs about the contact of the pen with the working area. And it is already constantly lit with white light when the pen exactly touches the working area, or blinks when there is a small distance between the pen and the working area (from 1 mm to ~ 1 cm). In the other case, it does not burn at all.

Anti-slip rubber pads are located on the back of the case. And on the same part in the center you can see some information about the model. The capacity of the built-in battery is 1000 mAh, which should last up to 10 hours of continuous operation. The tablet is charged up to 100% in about two hours.

The on/off button is located on the left side of the case. On the same side there is a Type-C connector for charging, or for a wired connection with another device.

In general, the assembly of the graphics tablet is very high quality and all the materials used are pleasant. I would also note its weight, since it is very light and almost not felt in a backpack.

The ability to connect wirelessly is, of course, the main highlight of this tablet. This is especially useful when you need to fix something quickly. And yes, for this you no longer need to pull out the cable, reconnect it, and so on. Oh … and who likes to work with a graphics tablet outside the home, those will like it even more. The main thing is that at this moment there is a charge on the tablet.

Let’s talk a little about the stylus pen, a model called X3 Elite. It has only two buttons, which are located next to each other, between the ribbed surface.

The tip of the stylus is changed using a special tool that is included in the package. To change the tip, you need to clamp the tip with this very device and pull it towards you, everything is quite simple (see the following photos).

Deco LW Proprietary Software
To work with proprietary software, of course, you must first download and install it. You can do this by «scoring» in the search or by clicking on this link.

Next, you need to select the desired platform, in my case it is Windows. Do not worry, with other devices, such as, for example, with Android, the tablet works (it’s not for nothing that the manufacturers put adapters in the package). We’ll talk about working with Andorid a little later.

I see no reason to describe all the installation steps, since this process is nothing special. Let’s move on to the «heart» of the XP-PEN application.
In the next photo you can see what the program’s home page looks like. This page contains sections such as:
- work zone;
- pen settings;
- quick keys;
- the level of the remaining charge on the tablet (if the icon is green, this means that the tablet is currently charging, and if it is white, then it is not);

The first thing I wanted to do was to change the working area of the graphic tablet, reducing it and shifting it to the left side. The working area can also be changed on the monitor.

In the next section, you can customize the pen, namely:
- buttons (2 pcs.);
- adjust pressure sensitivity;
- enable mouse mode and Windows Ink;

In the next section «shortcuts» you can reprogram all hotkeys. Do not pay attention to the fact that in the following screenshot there are only four buttons, the rest are located in «all key combinations».

Operation Deco LW
Before I start talking about the use of the tablet, I would like to note that I am not a professional and far from being an artist. I connected to the computer using a Bluetooth receiver, but this can also be done via a cable. There is no difference between Bluetooth and cable connections, they are both good, but my choice is still for Bluetooth (I do not like wires, I have enough of them near the computer).

To demonstrate how the tablet works, I used the most common brushes in the Photoshop application. And to be more precise, I took “Hard Round”, but with different pressures.

For all the time I did not notice any interference from the tablet. The pen glides perfectly over the surface of the working area, perfectly responds to all actions and does not slow down. In the video (at the end of the article) you can see, and in general, learn about everything in more detail.
Connecting to an Android smartphone
Let me remind you that the reviewed Deco LW tablet is able to work not only with computers and laptops, but also through an OTG connection with smartphones and tablets. The optional Bluetooth connectivity module provides maximum convenience for wireless operation. In the following photos you can see how my friend makes the lines.

I know that for many this is a huge plus, because thanks to this, even being somewhere on the road, you can always get a light tablet, connect to a smartphone via a Bluetooth receiver and quickly edit something. It’s super convenient.

Conclusion
So, in conclusion, I want to say that the XP-PEN Deco LW turned out to be very excellent, especially considering its price on the market. For such money, in fact, it will not be so easy to find something more serious and better. Plus to all this, there is the possibility of wireless connection, which is not available in other models and even in more expensive ones. I think that this is one of the best options for beginner artists, especially for those who do not really want to spend money on a graphics tablet. If you find something more interesting than the reviewed model, then be sure to share the name in the comments, it will be very interesting.
Of the minuses I would note:
- there is no specially designated place for the stylus, which is why it has to constantly fall somewhere on the table;
For the rest, I have no complaints and therefore I was satisfied with the XP-PEN Deco LW. I’ll also leave here a promo code: XPPEN2022, which gives a five dollar discount when buying tablets from XP-PEN.
