Recently, I had to deal with the installation of plumbing in an apartment, as it was new for me, I had to choose a tool and study a lot of materials. Why did I decide to study this issue on my own, and not call a professional? It’s simple, I know that I still need it in the future.
From the material I read, I concluded that for comfortable soldering of pipes (it is true, of course, that pipes are not soldered, but welded, but it’s more comfortable for me to call it that) we need the following tools: a soldering iron for pipes (welding machine), a pipe cutter, and also trim tool and insulation if desired.
In this collection, I will give you some inexpensive tools to start with if you need to mount polypropylene pipes yourself.

1. QSTEXPRESS cutter

Our selection is opened, of course, by tools for cutting polypropylene pipes, which is the cutter from QSTEXPRESS.
This cutter is budget and will suit you if you need to make several installations. Suitable for cutting small pipes up to 32mm or garden hoses. The cutter is made of metal, a good cutting blade for short-term use.
If you need a cutter for a short time and don’t plan to use it often, it’s a pretty good option for little money.
2. DTBD cutter

This is followed by more professional hand cutters from DTBD.
They cost a little more than the previous version, and the price varies depending on the size of the cutter itself. The company presents three cutters for various pipe diameters. The smallest for pipes up to 36 mm, medium for pipes up to 42 mm and the largest for pipes up to 64 mm. The handles have rubber inserts for comfort. Quality blade.
These cutters are suitable for relatively long-term use without loss of cutting quality.
3. Jewii cutter

The cutters from this company are the most expensive in the selection presented.
Quality blade, comfortable handle and durable material.
These cutters are available in 4 versions.
The smallest for pipes up to 36 mm, medium up to 42 m, large up to 64 mm and the largest up to 75 mm.
If you are serious about installing polypropylene pipes and often use hand cutters, then this option is ideal.
4. Chamfer

After cutting the pipe, some prefer to chamfer it so that the pipe fits more easily into the coupling or fitting. It is not necessary to do this at all, but the presented tool is designed to make this task easier for you.
The beveler is made of plastic, the blade is attached to the side. Suitable for pipes up to 63 mm in diameter.
Just insert the pipe and scroll to remove the chamfer. The tool itself is made on a C grade, the blades will also not last long, but it is easily replaceable. You can adjust the cutting angle yourself. Used for various plastic and rubber pipes.
If you often need to chamfer pipes and you still do it with a knife, then a tool like this will make the job easier.
5. JIANHUA welding machine

Our selection came to the basis of the installation of polypropylene pipes, the choice of a soldering iron.
The first option presented will be a kit from JIANHUA.
Characteristics:
Power: 600W
Nozzle sizes: 20, 25, 32 mm
This kit includes a soldering iron with nozzles and a cutter. There is a temperature controller.
The advantage of this soldering iron is its size and weight.
Of the shortcomings, the main thing is the wretchedness of the components. The nozzles are thin, the cutter is disposable, the stand is plastic, the wire is short. It takes a long time to heat up.
The cheapest set for home use. If you needed to install a water pipe in your apartment once and don’t want to spend a lot of money, then this set is suitable.
If you want to use it in the future, then the nozzles need to be changed to better ones, if possible, replace the wire with a rubber and long one.
6. FORGELO welding machine

The FORGELO soldering iron does not have a cutter in its kit, but is already more suitable for home use for a long time.
Power: 1000W
Heating head temperature: 260± 5%
Nozzle sizes: 20, 25, 32 mm
Compact, simple and high quality soldering iron. Comes with an iron stand. Supplied in an iron foil box, do not have high hopes for this box.
The heating temperature is optimal, you don’t need to think about what to set, just right for beginners. The wire still needs to be replaced for long term use. Nozzles are included for one installation, then they need to be replaced.
I ordered this one for myself.
7. TIM welding machine

The last of the soldering irons presented in this collection will be a set from TIM.
Power: 1800 W (2 heaters 900 each)
Thermostat: built-in
Complete with:
1. Welding machine (1800W): 1pc.
2. Special stand with vise: 1 pc.
3.Pipe cutting scissors: 1pc.
4. Teflon nozzles: 6 pcs (20mm; 25mm; 32mm; 40mm; 50mm; 63mm)
5. Measuring tape for 3 meters: 1 pc.
6.Bubble level: 1pc.
7. Hex key: 1 pc.
8. Screwdriver: 1pc.
9.Heat resistant gloves: 1pair
Suitable for long term use.
Nozzles are already better than in previous models, but not eternal. Suitable for those who are sure that they need such a powerful soldering iron. For the sake of completeness, it’s definitely not worth taking it. But the presence of gloves and a cutter is not superfluous.
8. Insulation

After our system is mounted, it will not be superfluous to insulate it or at least isolate it from the outer layer.
There are many types of pipe insulation materials. I used ordinary casings of standard black color made of porous rubber and in some places made of foamed polyethylene.
Length: 1.8m
Inner diameter: 6mm, 10mm, 13mm, 16mm, 19mm, 22mm, 25mm, 28mm, 32mm, 35mm, 42mm, 51mm
Thickness: 9mm
This cover is multifunctional and waterproof.
Since it is not very convenient to put covers on fittings, I advise you to use a damper tape for winding them.
This concludes my collection. I hope you can find the tool you need if you need it. The main thing to remember is that the installation of polypropylene pipes does not like haste and loves experience. The pipes and fittings themselves are not very expensive, it is better to buy with a margin and practice if you are a beginner. And you will definitely succeed.
